Halloween Parade

St. Joseph ELC celebrated October 31st with an annual Halloween Costume Parade through Makawao town. After the parade the students returned to the classrooms and enjoyed pumpkin carving, goodie exchange, and crafts. Pictured in the photo is Mrs. Alicia Cordeiro (Butterfly Room teacher) and a group of students parading through the court area. 

Feast Day Our Lady of Fatima

To celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13th the children at St. Joseph Early Learning Center presented the Blessed Mother with song, prayer,flowers and adornment. The staff and students prayed the rosary and enjoyed a  picnic lunch while watching a video on the Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. It was a blessing to all who participated. Mother Mary pray for us.

St. Joseph ELC Students Visit with
Dr. Rockers, Superintendent of Catholic Schools

Earlier this month St. Joseph Early Learning Center was bless by a visit with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Dr. Mike Rockers. The students enjoyed asking him questions,singing songs and talking story with him during lunch.

 

After a tour of the grounds and greeting students and staff he joined the class for a prayer before meal time.

 

Thank you Dr. Rockers for all that you do and for coming out to visit us...God bless you

Lions Club of Maui

The students of St. Joseph Early Learning Center are starting the year off happy and healthy thanks to the help of the Haleakala Lions Club of Maui. Each year for the past 15 plus years the Lions Club volunteers have provided a free vision screening for the children at the center. This service helps to assure that they are safe and ready for learning.On behalf of the students, families and staff of the St. Joseph Early Learning Center we would like to thank the Lions Club for their mission to provide good vision for all. 

Christmas blessings abound, praise God!

The St. Joseph E.L.C. students rejoice with new books received from Santa, a Christmas tree donated by the Gouvia Family (Grandparents of student Chaya Gomes) and the news of being awarded a tuition assistance grant from the Samuel N. and Mary Castle Foundation.
